Hi! Let’s make a simple little Christmas craft. They are accordion folded paper Christmas trees that you attach to a pencil. It’s a quick and inexpensive craft that would be perfect for your elementary school aged kids to give out to their friends or for the whole class to make together at a class party.

- Cardstock
- Pencils with Eraser Tops
- Paper Cutter and Scorer (Optional– you could just use scissors)
- Hole Punch
Instructions
Step 1: Cut a 9 inch by 4 inch rectangle of cardstock. You can get two from a standard sized piece of paper.

Step 2: Mark the center of the 4 inch side, then cut from the bottom corner to the center mark and again on the other side so that you have an isosceles triangle.

Step 3: Make score lines every 3/4 inch all the way down the tree.

Step 4: Use scissors to round off the tip of the triangle, then fold up the score lines and punch holes down the very center of the tree. My hole punch wasn’t strong enough to go through all the layers at once, so I just folded a little bit, used the previous hole as a template, then punched through just a few layers each time.

Step 5: Standard hole punches are too small for a pencil to fit through, so I had to shove a sharpened pencil into the holes and carefully widen them without ripping the paper. Then I slid the pencil into the holes, arranged the folds and ended up with the cutest little pencil Christmas trees.
